Business Manager Dan Hauschild announced the results of the Executive Officers election held online this summer.President – Art HansenVice President – Janie HansenTreasurer – Carole BryanSecretary – Dave Saunders
Meeting called to order by the Association President Art HansenThe group was led in reciting the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag by Dan Hauschild
Members of the Executive committee were introduced: Art Hansen – President, Janie Hansen – Vice President, Carole Bryan – Treasurer, David Saunders – Secretary
Association members introduced themselves.Old Business:
Treasurer’s Report read and accepted.2024 minutes were read and accepted.
New Business:2026 Reunion in Omha, NebraskaArt reported that he and Janie toured Omaha along with John and Jan Lekwa and Leo Biodrowski.The reunion will be in late September or early OctoberProbably be at the Embassy Suites DowntownThere will be at least two tours1. Omaha to the SAC base and on to Lincoln2. Joselyn Castle ?Casinos across the riverArt provided brochures for attractions in the Omaha area and a survey to help members give input to the selection of items of interest.More data will be available as the schedule is firmed up.
2027 Discussion and vote on 2027 ReunionThe reunion will be in the eastern US
John Basolino looked into having the reunion in Annapolis, Maryland and it is his opinion that the costs of lodging and tours and the distance from the airport would be prohibitive. Charleston, South Carolina and Bangor, Maine were also suggested.
A vote was taken:Annapolis – 5Charleston – 24Bangor – 0
With the choice of Charleston Marc Jacobs agreed to help with planning noting that a retired DD USS Laffy is available for tours.
Discussion of keeping Jupiter as co-members no call for a vote.Discussion of looking to to contact possible members.Buses replace trolley in OKC.Tour Bus out front 0900 tomorrow.
